Yesterday Phil had his first chemo with the new stronger types of chemo. So far so good – Phil has not had any adverse reaction to them yet. He does need to wear a portable IV for 48hrs for one of the chemo treatments. Dr. Lynn is optimistic that this will work and begin to shrink the tumor. The tumor had gotten a bit bigger and there were 2 new pinprick spots on Phil’s stomach lining. Phil will be on this new regiment now which is one week on one week off etc. Another CTscan will be scheduled in 2 months.
We appreciate your prayers and ask you continue to pray for Phil’s healing. The major side effect to this new chemo that the Dr. is concerned about is the numbness it causes to extremities. There are other chemo’s that have this as a side effect as well but this one is much more severe to the point of not being able to button or zip anything etc. Obviously this is a big concern as it could affect Phil’s ability to play. Please pray he will be spared from this side effect.
